Maurice is a heavyweight in music education, blending high-level academic research with a stellar track record of student success. As a former MOE scholar and experienced MEP and IB Music educator, he knows exactly what examiners look for.
Proven Track Record: Maintained a 100% pass rate and nearly 50% Distinction rate in schools. For his private students, his Distinction rate is an incredible 90%.
Academic & Examining Expertise: Associate Faculty at the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS), lecturer at the Singapore Raffles Music College, and an official appointed translator for the London College of Music Theory Exams.
Global Influence: Represents Singapore at UNESCO music organizations (ICTM & ISME) and consults for musical institutions across China, Vietnam, and Singapore to design cutting-edge music curricula.
Before moving into tertiary education, Maurice worked closely with the Singapore Teachers’ Academy of the aRts (STAR), researching pedagogical methods and developing the very teaching resources used by music teachers across Singapore.

His comprehensive background ensures students master both the art and the science of music.
Proven Track Record: Maintained a 100% pass rate across all examinations (including ABRSM, Trinity, and MOE O-Level/Higher Music), achieving 100% Distinction in practical exams and a 94% Distinction rate in theory.
The Complete Piano Expert: Combining his performance background with his current role in piano sales and technical servicing (tuning, regulation, and repairs) at Chiu Piano, Marc possesses an unrivaled, holistic mastery of the instrument.
Elite Performance Pedigree: A former full-time pianist for the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) Central Band—making him the only musician in Singapore to have held a full-time military piano performance appointment. He is also a founding member and percussionist of the internationally acclaimed Lion City Brass Band.
Marc holds a Master of Music in Piano Performance and Literature from the University of Illinois (USA) and graduated from the National Institute of Education (NIE). As a former MOE Music and English teacher since 2013, he specializes in customizing lessons to a student's individual needs, focusing heavily on robust foundational training and advanced aural development.
